Keep the phone in one orientation, scroll in one direction, and include a recognizable block from the previous screen. After setup, open LongShot; a reliable recent sequence goes straight to preview, while uncertain sequences stay behind a manual fallback.
01 / PREPARE
Before the first screenshot
- Close transient menus, keyboards, and floating overlays when possible.
- Keep text size, zoom, appearance, and orientation unchanged.
- Start at the top of the exact section you want to preserve.
- For animated feeds, wait for the visible content to settle before each capture.
02 / STITCH
A reliable five-step workflow
- Capture the first screen.Make sure the top of the content is complete.
- Scroll less than one full screen.Leave enough repeated text, images, or layout for a real match.
- Repeat without changing direction.Avoid screenshots from notifications or another app until the sequence is finished.
- Open LongShot.It checks recent images, orders a reliable sequence, validates adjacent overlap, and stitches on-device.
- Zoom through the preview.Check the top, several middle transitions, and the bottom before saving the PNG.
03 / TROUBLESHOOT
Why a sequence may not stitch automatically
Not enough overlap
Retake the pair with a larger repeated region. A single narrow divider or solid-color block may not provide enough evidence.
Different widths
Rotation, split views, display zoom changes, or screenshots from different devices can produce incompatible geometry.
Content changed
Video, ads, timestamps, lazy-loaded cards, and sticky overlays can replace the pixels needed for a reliable match.
Unrelated recent images
Use manual selection to choose the exact screenshots. LongShot keeps this fallback rather than merging a doubtful sequence.
04 / VERIFY
Check the result before cleanup
Inspect repeated headers, long paragraphs, image edges, and the final line. Save only when the preview is complete. Source cleanup is separate, optional, and guarded by the iOS confirmation dialog.
